Arrhythmia

The After-effects

May 13, 2008

My body has a way of telling me when it’s had enough and for me to take things slowly. I fall sick and have one day where it gets real bad and I need sleep to recuperate from it.

Funny thing is, I don’t feel like I’ve studied enough.

I can’t AFFORD to be sick. It’s NOT a luxury I can do, stay in bed all day while mountains of unread lecture notes pile up in front of me. At the same time, whats the point of reading when nothing goes in? The GI tract is dreadfully boring. NOT a speciality I want to go into.

Next week, we’re doing hormones -_- Oh glory.

ISOW’s meeting went pretty well today. Quite a lot of people showed up, support was brilliant. Our batchmates are fantastic in that sense, dynamic, outgoing and pretty supportive. Cheers to everyone from MEDT108! *clinks glass* You guys rock =D Not enough pizza to go around I guess but well, I just hope everyone got a slice each at least.

PS - I made the poster btw =D

PPS - The blog template too =D –> In Support of Women

I’m still not in tip-top form. A lil shaky now and then. Haven’t been out much as well.

Gods, I hate this. I had a FEW important things to blog about, ie about people, relationships, superficiality and religion. But shit, I seemed to have just lost the mojo for it. This is happening too often now.

Medschool is destroying my creativity, I’m sure of it.

Something extremely different I’ve realised about the people from PMC, Intec and IMU. I haven’t been long enough in IMU to make a fixed judgement but this is how it stands as of now. And no, I’m not comparing institutes, I’m talking about. . .thinking levels.

  1. People at intec, had possibly the most naive outlook on life.
  2. People at PMC, have naivety due to most of them just having left the nest.
  3. People at IMU, do NOT have naivety. They are experienced, adult-ish and not at all kid-like.

And by this, I don’t mean maturity at ALL. Completely different thing. IMU people maybe more adult-like, but when it comes to maturity, well, who’s to say age is a measure of maturity anyway? And most IMU people, lack maturity by leaps and bounds. PMC peeps have it. Intec folks never did. Well, not all. But for grouping’s sake, I will generalise and quote exceptions to those who dare message me indignantly over MSN going "ASH, HOW DARE YOU CALL ME IMMATURE?"

And you do realise that if you do, you’d be most indeed proving a point =D

Age, is NOT an indicator of maturity. Adults can be downright immature and dysfunctional as a hyperactive 3 year old. Maturity comes down to not being rash, indecisive and impulsive and can ONLY be attained via experience. Not a Webster definition but rather, a subjective Ashyville one.  Being older most certainly says that you have had much more experiences. But perhaps not the RIGHT ones. Or then again, just not enough mileage.

Maturity is subjective. And hell, I’m not mature myself. Maybe more tha n others but not exactly the walking epitome of maturity.

But I find the company of mature people a lot more assuring than peers with common interests. Yeap.

Yet to find em in uni. I’m still looking.
